im pretty convinced that people who get a lot of anonymous messages just send them to themselves. no one is that interested in you. and if they are its probably cuz you start a fuckload of drama or something. but even then i dont think anyone is really that interested in someone.
I have to argue that while this is likely the case for some individuals, I don’t think that it is usually the case. In my experience at least, and in the experience of several different people I’ve talked with, what tends to happen is just a really shitty snow ball effect. There’s been two instances in particular where I’ve received hate mail, anonymous and also with identities attached. The hate mail I got only sparked more hate mail. The opposite has also been true. Whenever I receive a single compliment or fan mail, it tends to bring out more happy letters from my followers. Once one person is happy/pissed-off enough to send a single message either way, it tends to inspire other people to finally throw in their happy or shitty opinion.
Weird how it usually works.
i meant people who get it all day erry day and constantly post it and flood everyones dashes with it and why the fuck did this get so much attention. wth, man.
Because of the snow ball effect, it eventually just becomes a popular opinion to hate or like someone. It would be wise to not feed the trolls/”haters”, but some people do like the attention even if it’s negative, so they just push the snow ball further downhill…whether or not they do it consciously, I’ve no idea.
